Trails are officialy "CLOSED" as of Monday morning. We will begin closing our gates on Sunday night. I saw a bunch of sleds out today and it's nice to see everyone enjoying things right up to the end. Please respect our closure as we look forward to another great season next year.

The leaves will begin changing in about 5 months and trails will be open again in about 9 months!!! Thanks to everyone that helped make this our best year ever!!!

Trail Update- 3/04/09 - Mike @ 09:30 EDT

It looks like we might be down to our last days of the season. I had a great ride last night and the trails were in pretty good shape. Looking at the weather forecast for the next week, temps are scheduled to be in the mid 40's starting Friday, with rain and a wintry mix forcast pretty much for the next week or so. Groomers are done except in a few isolated spots. You can still ride until the trails start washing out or become too icy or bare. At that point, we will start closing the gates and close the system. I will keep you all informed through e-mail or on the snow phone, 518-696-3152.

Don't forget this Thursday's meeting at Dunham's Bay Resort, 7:30 PM.

Meeting Notice / Trail Update - Mike @ 08:36 EDT

Don't forget our meeting this Thursday will be held at Dunham's Bay Resort up on Lake George. It is located on Rt.9L. Turn at Waterslide World and go about 5 miles. It is on the right, up on the hill. You can't miss it. The last meeting we had up there was great, so please try and attend on Thursday. Thursday's meeting is also our nomination meeting, so if you are interested in running for a position within the club, you need to show up on Thursday. All club positions are open for nomination.

=======================================================================
Here is the info I got from Rex Moon. Rex is part of the marketing team up at Dunham's Bay Resort....

We still have the buy one entrée and get one free going on, off the menu. It works the same as it has – buy one entrée and get one of the same or lesser value free. So any of your members can team up and their dinners will be two for one.

========================================================================

Some of us plan on riding up Lake George to the meeting. Anyone that is interested in going along with us should plan on meeting at The Garrison around 6 PM on Thursday. Hopefully, the little bit of snow we got yesterday will coat the lake enough to allow for a bit of lube and cooling for the sleds. If it doesn't look good I will send out another e-mail before Thursday.

The trails are getting pretty thin right now. Groomers are having some trouble with some icy hills. We are most likely going to be done grooming for the year unless we get some snow very soon. Trails are still rideable but you must use caution. It looks like spring is starting to rear its ugly head!!!

Trail Update- 2/29/09 - Mike @ 18:40 EDT

I just got back from a day of riding and the trails are still in pretty good shape. We went to Lake George on C4B and had lunch at the Garrison. From there we headed to the top of Prospect and off the back side to the Hudson River, which was good as well. Then I headed home to see my daughter Jaimee off to her semi formal. She looked beautiful I might add!!! Sean and Colleen Cook just e-mailed me and they went back via the Berry Pond Loop and then up Bennett's Riding Stable trail. They said everything was surprisingly good with more than adequate snow cover. There are plenty of icy and bare spots with rocks showing, but if you ride responsibly, you can still get in a very night spring type condition ride. The key word is responsibly. Mike Dalaba was out in his groomer, grooming over to Viele Pond, and reported that the trail was grooming up nicely.

Get it while you can, is all I can say!!!

Mike
