SOUTH WARREN SNOWMOBILE CLUB 

Minutes for meeting February 2, 2017

Meeting started at 7:00 pm at the Wild West Ranch in Lake George.

There was a moment of silence in memory of Mark Lado’s daughter and Damien’s Father.

There are 684 paid members of club. There were 35 members at the meeting. Motion to accept last month’s minutes by Lon second by Tim Burch.

Treasurer Report: there are no unpaid bills.

Trails Report: Trails are in good shape

Groomer Report: groomers are running good. Need groomer log books in in order to get paid from state. The groomer will be paid off the end of February or March, when grant money comes in.

Funding Raising Report: February 4th, Rock Maple Racing will hold event in Lake Luzerne. We will receive the $10.00 entrance fee per racer. We will have concession stand for hot dogs, coffee and hot chocolate. February 18, 201, snow squall party starts at 2:00 pm food starts at 3-7. Whippy and Skittles will be the entertainment. Raffle will be TV and a cooler. Sweatshirts will be sold.

New Business: All offices are up for election this year. If anyone is interested, club needs to know by March. The vote for officers will be done at the April meeting. The club has added a couple of bi-laws to the constitution. The articles are XIV and XV pertaining to the Supervision and Performance Evaluation Policy and M/WBE policy respectively.

Lake George winter carnival wants to hold snowmobile racing at Lake Luzerne or Echo Lake.

New sign going up near Bennett’s to go slow because of the tours in the area.

February 23, 2017 there will be a meeting with DEC, North Warren and South Warren clubs to discuss connecting trails. DEC is plowing Prospect Mtn road, Mike Zilm will check with them to find out why and get them to stop. There is no parking available at Million dollar beach in Lake George.

Ken Brooks the President of the Thurman Club will represent the area clubs at the Annual State Forum, which will be held in Lake Placid on April 28,29 and 30th. If anybody is interested in going email Mark McLain, for details.

The master grant has been submitted to the State by Mike Zilm.

The winner of the 50/50 at this meeting was Lorrie Buss.

Motion to adjourn meeting was by Ed Buss, second by Dave Coon.
