Snowsquall Party

December 16, 2016

December meeting held at Wild West Ranch. Meeting started at 7:10 pm

October minutes accepted first by Eddie Buss, seconded by Tim Burch, carried

There wasn’t a November meeting. Members attending December meeting were 30.

Mark McLain held meeting.

Treasurer report: no unpaid bills. Currently 350 paid members. NYS will pay us $14,000 based on 2015 snowmobile registrations. No money coming from Queensbury. Lake George and Lake Luzerne will send us some.

Wild West Ranch mentioned that their first parking lot will be for snowmobile trailers.. The ranch will be open 7 days a week with plenty of activities.

Gas logs are out at the Lake George and Lake Luzerne Stewarts. Get duplicate receipt and put it in box so we can get reimbursed for sales tax.

All the trails have now been GPSed. You can download a digitized trail map for $14.95 through the Linda Rockwood site, more info coming out soon.

NYS snowmobile safety course will take place 12/10/16. Simone and Mark Ramsey along with Mike Fazio will be leading the course. See Facebook and website for signup information.

Make sure you stay on the posted trails. We have had a complaint from landowner on Old Stage Road.

Rock Maple Racing is coming to Lake Luzerne the first weekend in February. It is an obstacle race. $10.00 to participate. They are expecting 100 racers. We will be selling food for event. Need volunteers to man concession. 1-2 hour shifts available.

There is also a Trail Groomer show in Salisbury on December 13 and 14, all are welcome.

Trails: The trail from Prospect to Viele Pond is closed.

10 guys went on French Mountain to Adirondack Grill and brushed trail and made it passable. The snow fence was put up near Magic Forest. There is a tree down in campground that club will remove. Working with DEC has been troubling, we have to give 48 hours notice when we are working trails. The sidewalks that we have to run shouldn’t be a problem. Mike Zilm met with the engineers and project mgr, sidewalks are made of special material to compensate for the snowmobiles. Follow the groomer trail

North Warren connection; Mark called Tom Hill, they are waiting for a few more property owners to come on board. They will let us know. There is no Thurman connection.

We can open trails after hunting season weather permitting. Any volunteers who want to help with brushing trail..pick a trail and brush. Let Mark know what trail, how many hours and equipment used.

Groomer: service coming soon.

Fund Raising: December 30, spaghetti dinner at the Adirondack Grill from 4-8 pm.

Snow squall party will be 2/18/17, details to follow.
