Meeting Minutes

December 4th 2014

Waterhouse Restaurant – Lake Luzerne

 

  • Meeting called to order at 19:08

  • Mark McClain made a motion to accept October’s meeting minutes without Johnny reading them.

    • Motion to accept – Barb Biondi

    • Seconded – Jerry Flynn

  • Mark McClain read the treasurers report. As of this meeting all of our bills are paid. And we received our 30% check from last year.

    • Motion to accept – Ed Bus

    • Seconded – Sherry Saheim

  • Mark gave the membership report. As of the meeting we have 410 members.

  • Mark Ladu gave the groomer report:

    • We’ve installed a new fuel and lift pump on one of the machines.

    • We have installed a new hydraulic filter on the Lake George machine.

    • The light on Mike Dalaba’s groomer has been fixed.

    • A request was made to Mark to install new lights on the piston bully so the drag is more visible.

    • The new drag should be here by the middle of the month.

  • Trail Report:

    • Jerry Flynn – There is an issue with getting to the Holiday Inn in Lake George, there seems to be a land owner issue.

    • Mike Zilm mentioned that we are going to use the beach in LG to get to Garrison.

    • Bob Grant told the club there is a new trial already cut to the LG American Legion. He is meeting with them.

    • Damon mentioned that River Road in Thurman may be open for use.

    • The trail behind the Luzerne American Legion is still a mess due to logging.

    • Mt. Kenyon is still logging.

    • Back side of Viele pond road is being logged.

    • Snow fence at Magic Forest is now up and completed.

  • Fundraising Committee Report – Kathy gave the report.

    • The Spaghetti dinner on November 25th was a success, we sold 94 dinners. We also sold raffles and sweatshirts and filled McClain’s truck half way.

    • The snowmobile raffle tickets are available for sale.

  • Hammer informed the club that the 7th annual purple ribbon ride will be on February 14th at 8:30 beginning at the Boars Nest.

  • Hammer mentioned that Hockey night at the Civic center will be January 17th at 7 PM.

  • Mark said that he is going to send an email to the club with a link to the website which has our maps that you can download to your GPS.

  • The new trail maps are in, they will be good for 3 seasons.

  • Hammer wanted to remind everyone that we cannot open the trails until 12/15, and to please respect that.

 

Break at 07:45 to sell 50/50 tickets.

 

 

 

New Business

  • Meeting returned to order at 20:05.

  • Hammer opened the floor for discussion.

  • Ed Bus and McClain wanted to remind everyone to go vote at the Firehouse on 12/09/14 from 6-9 PM.

  • Mark McClain wants to get with the groomer drivers. The state is basing its trail finding on loops and it will be a weighted system next year. 60% of funding is based on miles groomed.

  • Jack Waterhouse drew the 50/50 ticket. $55 to the winner.

    • Ticket #: 336417

    • Winner: Roger Saheim – Donated back to the club!

  • The next meeting will be January 8th at Longhorn Restaurant at 19:00.
