American Legion – Lake Luzerne

 

  • Meeting called to order at 19:00

  • Mark McClain made a motion to accept October’s meeting minutes without Johnny reading them.

    • Motion to accept – Albert Brooks

    • Seconded – Jim Randolph

  • Mark McClain read the treasurers report. As of this meeting all of our bills are paid.

    • Motion to accept – AJ

    • Seconded – Albert Brooks.

  • Mark gave the membership report. As of the meeting we have 285 members.

  • Mark mentioned that there are a number of areas where logging is still on-going. Mount Kenyon, Viele Pond Road and also the backside of prospect.

  • McClain - All signs are up in Lake Luzerne. Almost complete with Lake George.

  • McClain – We still have snow fence to put up around Jack Gillette’s property.

  • Mark met the Karate Kid’s mother, she mentioned to him that the road going up French Mountain will be all crushed stone next year; they received their approval for the zip line park.

  • The trail from Viele Pond to Alden Ave. is now un-funded, the state took it away.

  • The new drag is built; it just needs to be delivered.

  • The bridge to 4th lake needs to be replaced. Potash Rd. bridge is complete.

  • There are a number of issues the state is addressing now. There will be several public meetings to discuss the Rail Road Tracks and the Open Space Conservation Plan.

  • Fundraising Committee Report – Albert Gave the report.

    • The snowmobile raffle tickets are available for sale.

    • November 25th will be the first spaghetti dinner. It will be held at the Waterhouse and it will also be a can/box drive for the lions club as well.

    • March 14, 2015 will be the snowsquall party to be held at the longhorn.

    • The committee will be putting an order in son for sweatshirts. Looking to purchase pink for women and breast cancer awareness.

 

New Business

  • Mark McClain informed the club that Mohawk Valley GIS is going to manage our maps.

  • McClain – the million dollar beach parking lot has been ripped up by the DEC and they are working on it this year.

  • McClain mentioned he will be out of action for 4 months.

  • Camy from Cote Insurance agency gave a brief introduction.

  • Mark McClain wanted to remind everyone to track their time working on the trails.

  • The next meeting will be December 4th at Waterhouse Restaurant at 19:00.
