COMMITTEE REPORTS

Trail Report:

The work party on 10/24 was successful with about a dozen or so volunteers; a lot was accomplished. The signs need to be put up, Ed Bus will be doing Bennetts as in years past. There will be another work party scheduled in the near future and members will be notified. In the meantime, please do not clear trails on private property during hunting season. Mike found James McEnaney to discuss access to French Mtn, but he has no interest in allowing us to pass. He did say to draw up a proposal (insinuating we should pay for access) and send to him. The town of LG or Queensbury owns French Mountain Forest LLC and we may be able to cross that way but would have quite a bit of side road riding. Any other ideas on how to get across this stretch would be appreciated.

Groomer Report

Front blades for the new groomer should be in and delivery expected in November. Roger’s groomer needs new axles (which should be in), just need to swap out.

Fundraising Report

Cindy has mailed sponsor donation letters to 40 different businesses to be listed on our website with link to theirs if they have one and a blurb about their business, as of this meeting, 7 were returned. We are also raffling off a $250 gift certificate for Progressive Motorsports that we hope to draw in January. Tickets are $5, please let an officer know if you would like one or they can be purchased right at Progressive.

OLD BUSINESS

Putting together an antique sled show or bonfire are a couple of ideas that came up to raise money. A member also mentioned a race like they have done at Echo Lake in the past. A swap

meet is another option. There was a race that was in Luzerne, Mike will reach out to Gene Merlino for information and Cindy will reach out to Rock Maple Racing.

NEW BUSINESS

Greg Dunn the instructor for the Snowmobile safety course wants Mike to reach out to interested parties in our club to see what interest we have in a course this year. COVID has messed some things up and he can only hold a class up to 20 people. There can be no bystanders, Mike will send email to gauge interest. A member asked whether we had groomer training and if any groomers were needed. It was stated that we always need groomers and the best training is a ride along.

Motion made by Jason Halliday to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 pm second by Wiliam O’Boyle – approved

Respectfully submitted by Cindy Woodcock
